Over half of the population of the United States has tested positive for allergies. Many people have it and do not even realize they are afflicted with allergies. Allergies symptoms can run from very mild to life threatening. We all hear about people having severe allergic reactions to something they’ve eaten. But allergies symptoms are not just life threatening when you are allergic to food. People can be allergic to different things. When you are allergic to something it just means you have a higher sensitivity to a common usually harmless substance. It can be dust, pollen, plants, insect bites, foods, chemicals, medications, and even the environment around you.
Allergies symptoms can be very mild. Most people who experience a mild reaction to something may not even attribute the reaction to an allergy. Mild allergies symptoms can be a rash in the area where the skin came into contact with the substance. It can be itchy, water eyes from being around too much dust. Or it can even be slight congestion in the chest that some people pass off for a cold. Most mild symptoms will typically not spread to other parts of the body.
Moderate allergies symptoms can spread to other parts of your body. This is when you have to start paying attention to the allergic reaction you are having. It could very easily lead to a severe allergic reaction that could become life threatening. Moderate allergies symptoms can be itchiness or a difficulty in breathing. You can have coughing and sneezing that could resemble a common cold. If you are experiencing a rash, the skin could become inflamed or have welts. If you experience any of these symptoms you should consult a professional. You need to determine how severe your allergic reactions are. If you do not pay attention to the symptoms, you could experience a severe allergic reaction that could put you in the hospital, lead to missing workdays and incur huge medical expenses.
When your allergies symptoms become severe, you could go into anaphylactic shock. This is a very severe allergic reaction that affects your entire body. If you experience the common symptoms of an allergic reaction but it worsens quickly then you need to get immediate help. If you have a difficulty breathing, are going into convulsions, are having chest pains or a tightness in your chest then you need to get help. If you do not treat allergies symptoms immediately and correctly it could lead to hospitalization. Anyone who has any kind of allergies should consult a professional for treatment.
